Likely causes
- Lead guitar is too low during important phrases
- Vocals, keys, or rhythm guitars mask the presence range
- The part lacks contrast against the arrangement
- Delay or reverb is pushing the guitar backward
Check first
- Raise or automate the lead before changing tone
- Mute nearby midrange parts to find masking
- Check the guitar role against the vocal or hook
- Shorten ambience before adding more brightness
